
Hi, Richard here, founder of Rose Avenue Coffee Roasters.
My passion for coffee started when I was in college working as a barista in NYC. What started out as a simple curiosity, became a fascination with the art and science behind coffee—from selecting beans to perfecting brewing methods. Over time, this passion became something more than a personal ritual; it became a desire to share these experiences and connect with others through the love of coffee.
The name took root when I lived on Rose Avenue in Queens, where I began roasting beans right on the street to take advantage of the open-air ventilation. Rose Avenue became my classroom and my workshop, where I honed my skills, learned to appreciate the delicate alchemy of roasting, as passersby stopped to watch, captivated by the aroma wafting through the air. This grassroots beginning inspired me to create a business dedicated to sharing that same passion, community, and sensory experience.
